Thanks to Everyone Who Contributed to My Humanoids & US Labor Market Research Survey
My current dissertation prep course, Research Survey Design, requires me to design a research survey as part of an assignment.
Survey requirements
Per the assignment, my survey design must include the following criteria:
- design of a (mixed methods) research survey;
- must use an online tool designated for research;
- must include a minimum of 15 questions; and
- a minimum of 10 participant responses must be collected.
My survey focus
For my survey, I chose to focus on how AI (and the first wave of humanoid workers; like the ones Amazon is deploying across its warehouses) is impacting the USA labor market.
This YouTube video offers a helpful visual that nicely correlates to my area of focus:
Finding survey participants
To find my participants, I posted the following survey details on NextDoor, LinkedIn, and a responsible technology discussion board:
*** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** ***
HUMANS, HUMANOIDS & THE USA LABOR MARKET
📍 no personally identifying information is being collected
- based in and/or working in the USA
- have interest in AI's impact on the USA labor market
- have interest in the expanding role of humanoid workers
- have 10 quick minutes to spare
- willing to help a full time PhD with a required assignment

Survey tool
I used QuestionPro to collect participant responses (this tool is relatively easy to use and offers a free 7-day trial).
Survey results
Though I only needed 10 participants, I received responses from 25; this was beyond wonderful and far more than I expected.
And though the purpose of the survey was only to satisfy a course requirement for credit, the survey findings were so insightful and interesting!
Thanks everyone!
For the time being, I'd like to thank anyone and everyone who took the time to jump in and be supportive of me as I worked to get through this research survey design course.
After this course, I'll be working on my dissertation and will update on my progress as I chug along.
Again, a sincere thanks to ALL survey participants who generously offered responses in a timely fashion.
Until next time,
